Hi, and welcome to my website; my name is Robert Bales. I have been interested in photography for over 20 years.  I was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, IL.  While living there I would spend my weekends trying to capture as much of the dwindling landscape of farms in my community.  Many of the farms that I captured 20 years ago on film have long been plowed under making way for new strip malls, parking lots, or sub-divisions.

For years, my interest in photography was solely crumbling buildings, and dilapidated farms.  Since moving to NM in 2002 I have learned to appreciate the glorious sunrises and sunsets, the clouds in the sky, ghost towns, Santa Fe, Old Town Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Zoo, the Albuquerque Botanical Garden, and the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta; the opportunities for amateur and professional photographers are endless in New Mexico.
